| This is the seat of Labour Chief Whip Anne Taylor. Before the 97' Election she was Shadow Leader of the House and therefore had a reasonable public profile yet her vote actually went down from around 23,000 to 21,000. However fortunately for her the Tories vote collapsed by 7,000 more otherwise she could now be facing a "Bradford West" situation. It would be a major shock, and highly unlikely, if she lost the seat this time but the result could be closer than Labour would like. |
