| The Liberal Democrats do not have a good track record for holding seats when incumbent MPs retire. However, David Laws is a strong candidate who has been doing the rounds accompanied by outgoing MP, Sir Paddy Ashdown, for almost three years. Despite a poor showing in the Europeans, Ashdown's big majority and the party's local strength should ensure that Yeovil is a Lib Dem Hold on the night. |
