| The scariest thing here is that Labour was lower and SNP was higher in this seat than in Hamilton South in either 1997 (Westminster) or 1999 (Holyrood). So, if one extrapolated from Hamilton South's by-election close call, this'd be headed for an SNP pickup. Uh, yeah, as if; don't get your bagpipes in a knot over a measly byelection... |

| Well, with just eight days to polling day, we still have 72 gaps to fill in. I assume that only boredom has prevented anybody saying that the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland will have a nice easy rest here from his troubled portfolio. |
