Eccles is a rock solid urban Labour stronghold, situated in Salford (a city almost entirely subsumed by its next-door neighbour, Manchester). There will be no surprise anywhere when 'Lab hold Eccles' momentarily flashes up on the bottom of the TV screen some time on Thursday night.
